A decade of unity, health, and community spirit
The Mamone Funwalk began in 2015 as a simple community walk through the heart of Mamone village. What started with a handful of neighbours has grown into one of Sekhukhune District's most beloved annual traditions.
Now in its 11th year, the Funwalk brings together thousands of participants from across Limpopo ... Families, friends, young and old all united by a single goal: to walk together for healthier lives and stronger communities.
Every 25th of December, long before the sun rises, the community gathers at Sekwati Sports Complex. Shoes are laced, laughter echoes, and for 10KM the whole district moves as one.
To promote healthy living, fitness, and community unity through an inclusive, family-friendly walk that welcomes everyone, from toddlers to grandparents.
A community where every person, regardless of age or ability, has access to health, wellness, and the simple joy of walking together.
Community — we move as one.
Health — we prioritise wellness.
Unity — we walk together.
Inclusivity — everyone is welcome.
The inaugural Mamone Funwalk welcomes 150 participants on a 5KM route through the village.
The event expands to a 10KM route, doubling participation and welcoming walkers from across the district.
Even through challenging times, the community kept its spirit alive, walking safely, together.
Over 1,000 participants take part in a single event, a milestone for the Funwalk and the community.
We celebrated a decade of unity, health, and community with our biggest event yet.
